In today’s episode of -Road- Homeowner Reality, we’re tackling my non-running Hotpoint chest freezer. It’s a 7cuft model I bought in 2020, and it should’ve lasted longer than 6 years… but here we are. After a long weekend away from home, I came home to TWO contractor bags full of spoiled food… and I was NOT happy. So, taking the path of least resistance, I bought the relay below off Amazon and got to work! In this video, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know to do the fix yourself, and we’re even going to test it afterward with a fancy temp gun! đŸ˜€
Get your relays here – just make sure it’s compatible with the one you pull out of YOUR freezer!
Might as well get some Clorox wipes while you’re at it, to disinfect your freezer – you don’t know what bugs are floating around in there!
My temperature gun is old, but here’s a good one, in case you don’t have one – you’d be surprised how often you get the chance to use it!
