Key fobs have been around a fairly long time, used for remote locking, unlocking and in some cases, starting your vehicle. In the case of my 2010 Nissan Maxima, the key fob is it – there is no traditional key. Combined with push-button start, it makes a very convenient way to unlock, enter and start your car, all with the key still in your pocket. The only problem is when the automaker doesn’t recess the buttons on the fob, which can allow them to be accidentally pushed while the fob is still in your pocket.
