2002 Honda Passport
In the latter part of the 1990s, Honda and Isuzu had a joint effort to create SUVs, namely the Honda Passport and Isuzu Rodeo. The Isuzu Axiom used a lot of underpinnings for the aforementioned SUVs, so it too suffers from the same malady causing the recall. It turns out that vehicles exposed to “highly corrosive materials,” such as the road salt used in more northern states, experience premature wear and possible breaking of the rear suspension brackets. 2005 BMW 750Li
If you own a late-model 5,6, or 7-series BMW or a Rolls-Royce Phantom, your car may be part of a recall being initiated by BMW this week. The recall affects 198,000 cars from model years 2002 to 2010. In the recalled cars, a leak can develop in the power braking system, leading to lessened braking assistance. While this would not cause a full loss of braking ability, the driver of an affected vehicle will have to use more pressure on the brake pedal to bring their car to a full and complete stop. There was a post I made at NHTSA investigating steering issues on 2011 Sonata?, where The Detroit News was reporting that an investigation was under way into the 2011 Hyundai Sonata over a steering issue, namely the linkages involved? Well, Hyundai and the NHTSA have officially recalled 139,500 2011 Sonatas for that same issue. Click past the jump for more details and the press release.

Debbie's 2004 Toyota Sienna
One of our readers, Debbie from Wisconsin, sent in some pictures and her experience so far with Toyota’s Sienna minivan recall. I reported on the original recall notice here, the update here, and Debbie was kind enough to email her dealer’s “solution” to the rusted-out spare tire carrier problem. Her minivan was bought new and has been primarily driven in Wisconsin, so it falls into the list of 600,000 Siennas to be recalled. Read her story after the jump.

It’s been 5 months, and as several readers have pointed out, Toyota still hasn’t come up with a fix for the spare tires falling off of 1998-2010 Sienna minivans. In the mean time, I’ve placed a call to Toyota’s PR department and am expecting a response shortly.
