February 2011 Sales and Analysis

February was a great month for new-car sales, with the total volume up 21.28% over January, and almost 27% over February of 2010.  Those are the overall numbers, but the general trend for February was that American car companies had a good time, while most of their overseas competitors struggled.  Click past the jump for my analysis and graphs.

Jay Leno orders a 2011 Jaguar XJ – w/Video

Jay Leno, as he says a couple times during the videos after the jump, usually buys his cars second-hand.  Then, Jaguar asked him to introduce the 2011 XJ sedan at a show, and he ended up ordering one.  The videos follow his car from creation to delivery, so fans of Jaguar or Jay Leno should be pleased.

Video: 2011 Jaguar XJ

Jaguar released a video this week, showing off the 2011 XJ.  Redesigned for 2011, it reminds me of the Jaguar XF which debuted in 2008 to much fanfare.  Ridding itself of its stodgy design, the new XJ looks sleek and aggressive, a complete departure from its current image.  With V8 engines ranging powering it, and an aluminum/magnesium structure, the new XJ is both lighter and more powerful, so I can’t wait to get my hands on one when it goes on sale later this year.  Click past the jump for the video.
