The numbers are (mostly) in, and the news isn’t good. August sales were down over 5% from July’s, and none of the major automakers were even close to the amount of vehicles they moved in July. Toyota took the biggest hit percentage-wise, followed by Ford and GM. Honda was only down about 4,000 vehicles overall, and almost everyone else stayed flat. The only companies to have better sales month-to-month were Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz. Continue reading ‘Sales Figures: August, 2010′

Ok, so I know they’re not even in the same league; the Ford Shelby GT500 is a raw, muscular pony car with pretty good handling and a nameplate that goes back to 1964, while the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is a luxury-oriented coupe that hangs with BMWs, and whose name has only been used for the last several years. Jay Leno may be known for The Tonight Show, but outside of that, he’s known for his web show, Jay Leno’s Garage. This week, Jay took out a 2011 Ford Mustang GT, and put it through a fairly thorough test drive, including freeways, corners, and even a burnout. He does a walk-around with the car, showing off some of its features, and he harps on the 412-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine a lot. Jay Leno has a 65 Mustang GT350, one of the faster variants from the 1960′s, and he apparently loves driving it. After driving the 2011 model, he agrees, and even goes as far as comparing it to pricier cars from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Click past the jump to see the video.
