Road & Track pits Shelby GT500 versus CTS-V Coupe!

Ok, so I know they’re not even in the same league; the Ford Shelby GT500 is a raw, muscular pony car with pretty good handling and a nameplate that goes back to 1964, while the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is a luxury-oriented coupe that hangs with BMWs, and whose name has only been used for the last several years.  But, both being American cars, someone was going to pit them against each other, and it turns out Road & Track got it done, and posted it to YouTube.  Click past the jump to see the video.

Hotter Car: 2011 CTS-V Coupe

When the CTS-V Sedan began it’s 2nd generation run in the summer of 2008, it took the world by storm.  GM tested it on race tracks around the world, invited competitors to race their cars against it, and brought Cadillac into the rarified air which the BMW M5 breathes.  Add in rave reviews from the media, and they had a surefire winner on their hands.
