Late last year, I shared a video of “Metropolis II“, Chris Burden’s sculpture which involves a ton of die-cast cars zooming around a scale city. Now, a follow-up video has surfaced, featuring an interview with Mr. Burden about the meaning behind his impressive display. Since everyone today will be on the road headed to their Thanksgiving destinations, I thought I’d share a video I came across thanks to AutoBlog and Unframed, featuring the kinetic sculpture “Metropolis II” by Chris Burden. Featuring 1,200 diecast cars and some clever conveyor belts, the sculpture is the largest of its kind that I’ve ever seen. Click past the jump for the video preview of the roller coaster action.

The people at Motor Trend have spent some serious time with GM’s technology-laden electric car, the Chevrolet Volt, and it’s no surprise that they love it. They even tested it and got 127 mpg out of it. Well, now they’ve crowned it king of the hill for 2011, bestowing upon it their coveted Car Of The Year award.
