Reader Poll: Cadillac CTS versus BMW 3 or 5-Series?

With Cadillac releasing coupe and wagon variants of its popular CTS luxury sport sedan, I’ve started to wonder which of BMW’s cars is a better comparison: the 3-Series, which is a bit smaller, but priced similarly, or the 5-Series, which is a bit bigger, but priced about $10,000 higher?  Click past the jump for the tale of the tape and the Reader Poll.

GM Recalling 2010 Cadillac SRX Over Fire Concerns

The 2010 Cadillac SRX has already had one safety recall, and now it has another.  A total of 3,996 SRX crossovers, built in December of 2009, are being recalled because of a possibility of fire.  An unattended SRX caught fire when its power steering lines were damaged, which leaked fluid onto “hot engine parts,” according to the press release.  This caused a fire in the engine compartment.  No accidents or injuries have been reported, and General Motors believes that this issue is limited to only 2 or 3 vehicles, but is recalling almost 4,000 of them just to be safe.  Click past the jump for the press release.

GM Recalls 2010 SRX over Engine Failure concerns

If you’ve been reading Road Reality for any length of time, or delved into past articles, you’ll notice that a month or two ago, I stopped posting every little recall.  If a recall involves a danger to the driver or passengers, I certainly will mention it, but otherwise I’ll leave it to the manufacturer to notify you.  While this recall doesn’t necessarily pose a danger to drivers, it shows that the new GM is quicker to react to problems than it used to be, and at least in this case, has their consumers’ best interests in mind.  Read on for why engines could be failing on 2010 Cadillac SRX crossovers.
