In the latter part of the 1990s, Honda and Isuzu had a joint effort to create SUVs, namely the Honda Passport and Isuzu Rodeo. The Isuzu Axiom used a lot of underpinnings for the aforementioned SUVs, so it too suffers from the same malady causing the recall. It turns out that vehicles exposed to “highly corrosive materials,” such as the road salt used in more northern states, experience premature wear and possible breaking of the rear suspension brackets.
