It might’ve had a name change. It might’ve gone under the Ram brand. But no, the 2011 Dodge Durango remains a Dodge, and the new model retains its predecessor’s muscle and most of its abilities. Though it’s now built on a unit-body chassis like the 2011 Ford Explorer, the new Durango can still tow – up to 6,200 lbs with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 and 7,400 lbs with the Hemi V8. Read on for more details and high-resolution pictures.

Jay Leno, as he says a couple times during the videos after the jump, usually buys his cars second-hand. Then, Jaguar asked him to introduce the 2011 XJ sedan at a show, and he ended up ordering one. The videos follow his car from creation to delivery, so fans of Jaguar or Jay Leno should be pleased.

As a maker of inexpensive vehicles, Hyundai has come a long way. They started as the maker of the Excel, an almost universally hated automobile (right up there with the Yugo), to being on American consumers’ buy list in the last few years. With recent releases like the Genesis and Genesis Coupe, and then the 2011 Sonata, you’d expect Hyundai to be riding high. Not so fast. It started a few weeks after the 2011 Sonata went on sale, and continues today, with the NHTSA investigating steering problems with the redesigned family hauler.

After last weeks’ update involving pricing and changes to the 2011 Nissan Maxima, several members of the Maxima.org Internet forum have found a video on YouTube of a new commercial featuring the 2011 Maxima. It appears to be a Sport model, so those who watch closely can see the changes that were made for the new model year. Video after the jump.

In an effort to keep Road Reality well-organized, some changes will periodically have to be made. The first of which is today’ introduction of a new category: Vehicle Redesign. This change will be made retroactively to posts I feel fit best in it, but for existing posts, they will also stay in the “Hot Car – Upcoming” category, for legacy reasons.

Ever since it’s introduction in 2002 as a 2003 model, Nissan’s Murano has had polarizing looks… you either love it, or hate it. For 2011, the automaker has given its biggest crossover a makeover of sorts. While its engine is the same and the underpinnings haven’t been touched, the body and interior have seen a working over, and I like what they’ve done. Plenty of details and pictures after the jump.
