Update: Ford’s EcoBoost F-150 Runs Baja 1000 in 38 Hours!

Remember in September, when Ford announced that they were torture-testing their new EcoBoost-powered F-150?  Well, the results of the Baja 1000 off-road race are in, and the twin-turbo F-150 ran the entire race in 38 hours.  Just finishing the Baja 1000 is an accomplishment, but the F-150 had a well-used engine in it.  Click through the jump for details and the press release.

Motor Trend’s Car Of The Year for 2011? The Chevrolet Volt, of course!

The people at Motor Trend have spent some serious time with GM’s technology-laden electric car, the Chevrolet Volt, and it’s no surprise that they love it.  They even tested it and got 127 mpg out of it.  Well, now they’ve crowned it king of the hill for 2011, bestowing upon it their coveted Car Of The Year award.

CNBC Special on Ford’s Resurgence Airs Tonight

In a few short hours, CNBC will be airing a special on how Ford’s Alan Mulally has turned the company around since he took over in 2006.  CNBC’s Phil LeBeau got insider-style access to the company’s inner workings, so it should be both entertaining and informative.  The first airing will be at 9pm EST, with reruns starting at 10pm and midnight EST tonight.

Airing Tonight: First Chevrolet Volt Commercial! (w/video)

Tonight, during Game 1 of the World Series, Chevrolet will be airing its first Volt commercial.  The 30-second spot features Tim Allen’s voice talking about the Volt, specifically its range-extender engine.  If you’re not a baseball fan, or won’t be able to watch the game tonight, click past the jump to see the commercial.

Reader Poll: Cadillac CTS versus BMW 3 or 5-Series?
