Jay Leno, as he says a couple times during the videos after the jump, usually buys his cars second-hand. Then, Jaguar asked him to introduce the 2011 XJ sedan at a show, and he ended up ordering one. The videos follow his car from creation to delivery, so fans of Jaguar or Jay Leno should be pleased.

In it’s “Innovation for All” series of commercials, Nissan is underhandedly going after Toyota. Although the automaker says it is not targeting one specific rival, it’s pretty clear to me that they have Toyota in their sights with this one. The commercial shows a Nissan vehicle coming to a stop. On a dime. And the voice-over is telling us all about Nissan’s brake override system, and how they started installing it on cars 6 years ago. Video after the jump.

After last weeks’ update involving pricing and changes to the 2011 Nissan Maxima, several members of the Maxima.org Internet forum have found a video on YouTube of a new commercial featuring the 2011 Maxima. It appears to be a Sport model, so those who watch closely can see the changes that were made for the new model year. Video after the jump.

In an update to a story I wrote about earlier this week, the Swedish government has handed down “300 days of fines”, or £2,166 daily, for a total of £650,000. Translated into USD, that amounts to $1,014,585. And remember, this is based on his speed and income! Also featured in the update: the model of the Mercedes the 37-year old driver was piloting; the brand new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, pictured above, which I wrote about before.

A 37-year old Swedish driver, who has remained unnamed, was caught speeding in his “black Mercedes-Benz”, which cost $240,000, at 180 mph. This points me in the direction of the new SL65 AMG, which retails at around $200,000 USD. According to officials, that could be a record for the country, and the driver faces a fine of up to $1 million Swiss francs, or $962,000 USD, based on the Swedish government’s formula which fines speeders based on their speed and income level.

Dealers advertise all the time, even when you’re not looking. Those license plate frames, badges or decals they put on your car when they sell it, those are advertisements. Any time someone sees your car, they’ll also notice where you bought it. Sometimes, such as the case with my 2010 Maxima, Nissan saw fit to put the model name in chrome block letters on the left-hand side of the trunk lid, but nothing on the right-hand side to balance it out. Click past the jump for a painless way of removing unwanted badges. As a demonstration, I will be removing the letters that spell “MAXIMA” on the trunk lid of my own car.
