Product Review: Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax

Boy, that’s a mouthful – too many words.  Let’s call it Meguiar’s HCLW for short.  I’ve used HCLW for almost 6 months now on my Harley, and I like it!  I like it enough that I even filmed recorded a video on using it and the results I got.

The gist of it is that Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax (HCLW) (Amazon Affiliate link – if you want to help support the site at no extra cost to you when you order a bottle) is an easy-to-use and effective product.  It leaves no residue on non-painted parts (rubber seals, plastics, glass, etc.).  Its only downside is that if you let it cure too long, it’s difficult to buff off – try a microfiber cloth and spray detailer.

Here are some before pics:

Covered in suds:

Afterwards, I rinsed the bike off, “rumble dried” it, and then took a leaf blower to it to get the little droplets out of their nooks and crannies.  Then, it was time to apply the wax!

Waxed Up:

After waiting about 20 minutes (it was humid – if it’s drier out, the wax takes less time to cure), it was time to buff off.

All Done!

Pros:

Goes on easy.

Hazes up nicely.

Makes maintenance cleaning (dust & light debris) faster & easier.

Makes washing easier.

Cons:

Hard to buff off.

Yep, it’s that simple, folks!  When you finish applying it, you’re left with a super slick finish on your vehicle, and cleaning off light dirt and debris (think: bugs) is quick and easy, and washing is faster as well.
