DaVinci Resolve 16 SUCKS UP RESOURCES!

I wasn’t originally going to post this, but I was just amazed by what I saw in the Task Manager on my new laptop while rendering in DaVinci Resolve 16 tonight!  In case you had any questions about how much of my laptop’s resources I’m using, let these screenshots tell the tale.  This is also evidence of what I talked about in the original laptop unboxing video, when I said I was testing the computer out.  Also, I noticed that Resolve’s RAM-gobbling jumped from about 9GB while rendering 1080p and 4k videos, to over 17GB for 1440p (2k?) videos.  I think this is due to the resolution not being native to Resolve (I set it under “Custom Resolution”).  Interesting – I may have to query some Resolve experts about this.

Anyway, check out these screen shots of Task Manager!  In addition to these, I saw peaks of 50% GPU usage, but was unable to do a screen grab in time.

100% CPU usage, across all 12 logical cores.

Evidence of over 16.5GB of RAM usage!
