Video: Scale City “Metropolis II” Background

Late last year, I shared a video of “Metropolis II“, Chris Burden’s sculpture which involves a ton of die-cast cars zooming around a scale city.  Now, a follow-up video has surfaced, featuring an interview with Mr. Burden about the meaning behind his impressive display.  The sculpture will be visible to the public in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art this fall.  Click past the jump to see more of “Metropolis II”.

Enjoy The Ride: Australian Government Urges Drivers to Slow Down (w/Video)

The Australian Government has got the best PSAs for drivers that I’ve ever seen.  I featured one here a while back, and another has come to light.  In the video after the jump, the Australian Safety Council urges drivers to slow down.  Not just behind the wheel, although that’s the focus, but for life in general.  They list a lot of stress-related ailments, and suggest a few ways to counter them.  All in all, a very moving video, just after the jump.

Video: Jay Leno Drives the Oldest and Newest VW Beetle

From 1938 to 2012, the Volkswagen Beetle has changed quite a bit.  At the same time, the shape is similar, albeit much larger.  Recently, noted car enthusiast and comedian Jay Leno got his chance to drive the new Beetle.  He also got to drive the oldest known surviving example, which dates back to 1938.  Click past the jump for the video, which contains Mr. Leno’s impressions of the new Beetle.

Test Drive: 2011 Infiniti FX 35 AWD

There are lots of entrants in the ever-popular luxury crossover/SUV arena.  Infiniti jumped in several years ago with their first generation FX series.  Built on the same platform as the G37 coupe and sedan, as well as the smaller EX35 crossover, the FX35′s second iteration retains its sporty demeanor and love-it-or-hate-it styling.  Read on for my impressions during my test drive.

PSA: It’s time to change your car’s Cabin Air Filter

See the picture to the left.  Now ask yourself, “How long has it been since I last changed my cabin air filter, or had it changed?”  If that time frame is either so long it’s no longer in your memory, or it’s been more than a year, it’s time for a change.  Click past the jump for some general-purpose instructions, as well as detailed instructions on removing and replacing the cabin air filter in a 7th generation (currently 2009-2012) Nissan Maxima.
