Motor Trend’s Car Of The Year for 2011? The Chevrolet Volt, of course!

The people at Motor Trend have spent some serious time with GM’s technology-laden electric car, the Chevrolet Volt, and it’s no surprise that they love it.  They even tested it and got 127 mpg out of it.  Well, now they’ve crowned it king of the hill for 2011, bestowing upon it their coveted Car Of The Year award.

Nissan Initiates big recalls of Frontier, Xterra and Sentra

In a recent press release by Nissan, two recalls have been initiated.  The first is for the Frontier truck and Xterra SUV, for faulty steering linkages.  The second recall is for the Sentra, and involves the battery cables.  All told, around 513,000 vehicles in the US will be recalled, starting this month.  Click past the jump for details, press release, and model years affected.

Lincoln’s Complimentary Maintenance becomes Permanent!

Remember a couple months ago when Ford announced it would be offering free 50k/4-year maintenance for Lincoln buyers during the summer months of 2010?  Well, they’ve extended that to all buyers of any 2011 model-year and later Lincolns.  Ford says it’s a way to change the ownership experience for buyers of its luxury brand, and I see it as step 1 of rebuilding Lincoln.

CNBC Special on Ford’s Resurgence Airs Tonight

In a few short hours, CNBC will be airing a special on how Ford’s Alan Mulally has turned the company around since he took over in 2006.  CNBC’s Phil LeBeau got insider-style access to the company’s inner workings, so it should be both entertaining and informative.  The first airing will be at 9pm EST, with reruns starting at 10pm and midnight EST tonight.

Officially Announced: 2012 Buick Regal GS

The Buick Regal itself has been garnering great reviews and building on Buick’s sales, but to really bring younger buyers into the tri-shield’s showrooms, it needs a performance car.  It’s been mentioned before, but last week, GM announced that the Buick Regal GS would be going into production.  Click past the jump for details, pictures and the press release.
