Update: Toyota to Install Brake Override System in its Cars

As reported earlier, Toyota is in the midst of a 3.8-million vehicle recall because of runaway cars whose owners are unable to stop them.  In an announcement on Monday, Toyota announced it would be installing a “brake override system” on all affected models by year’s end.  Note that I said “models” and not “vehicles” – it’s unclear whether Toyota will be installing the systems on new vehicles only or new vehicles and the ones already affected by the recall.
